This club is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  Yearbook will meet after school until 4:00 pm.  Information will be posted as needed.  If you have questions or want to join see Ms.Van Valkenburg or call her at 544-0190 X3268.

Student Council

This club is open to all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  Students are elected as representatives from home base classes.  It is an honor and a privilege to participate on the Student Council.  Student Council members need to be positive role models and willing to help their school and community in many ways.  Congratulations on your election to the BCMS Student Council.  If needed, you may want to carpool with other students.  Representatives meet every other Wednesday at 8:05-8:30a.m. in the Library

Math Counts

 

*Students practice solving a variety of math problems, both in an individual and a team setting.
*Competition dates are in February.
*Students will meet on designated Wednesdays in room C107 from 3:15-4:00pm.
*7th and 8th grades usually meet twice per month, ending in March.
*6th grade meets once or twice per month throughout the school year.

Student vs. Faculty Game Night-
Friday January 22, 2009 3:05-6:30pm

Members should help out with concessions, ticket sales, and setup if they are available. 
This fundraiser provides supplies, t-shirts and entry fees for our competition.

Drama Club

This club is open it all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.  Meetings will be held periodically throughout the year.  Students are exposed to various aspects of the theatre world including acting, lighting/sounds, set design/construction, stage management, and production.  In the past we have participated in Hometown Christmas, Elementary School Reading Nights, and productions at the Performing Arts Center. No previous acting experience is required.  Come join the fun!

Academic Bowl   

 

*Seventh and eighth grade students compete in teams of three, answering questions that cover core subjects in addition to general trivia. Teams are guaranteed 2 matches.
*Competitions will be held in Mrs. Spears' room C107 from 3:15-5:00pm.  Sometimes it ends earlier based on the number of teams signed up.
*Students should report there as soon as they are able to at the end of the school day.  Students will not be allowed to return to their locker after the competition.  Bring your materials, backpack and coat with you!
*Dates found on Mrs. Spears' homepage via the district webpage and are posted in school hallways.
*Students may join anytime throughout the year.

Peer Mediation

 

Students may join anytime throughout the year-
Peer Mediation is a program that allows students to sit down and discuss their issues in a respectful manner. 
Students have the chance to work problems out before they escalate into a school infraction.  All mediations are held between only 2 students and are kept private
